Final Cut Number Three

This clip is a montage combining moving image and still photos of the same locations. The moving image introduces the area, and the stills provide a much more focused view of the same place.

Final Cut Number Two

This clip evolved from one of the rough cuts. I did a bit more trimming, removing some unnecessary footage, but it remains uncut and unmodified. The image and light stand alone.

Final Cut Number One

This movie shows a journey to the edge of the lake, interspersed with stills of the same location on the lake. I focused on timing timing and rhythm of the stills here. The energetic feel of the motion cuts is nicely contrasted with the more calm feeling of the stills.

Movie from Stills

Using the still photos to make a movie. These images all incorporate some sort of dividing line - as described in my image making strategies post. My favorite images are those with the sewer cover.

Following a Stick

And finally, using the line created by a fallen branch as the path to follow. The texture of the branch really stands out, especially among the other clips that I've posted.

At the Lake's Edge

Again, the shadows lead somewhere unexpected - to the edge of the lake. I really like the division created between the grass and the lake.

Tree Shadows

The shadows also create an interesting path to follow, leading directly into the
line created by the trees. The time of day (around noon) was especially conducive to long shadows.
